Chateau de Versailles
The Palace of Versailles is the main tourist attraction in Versailles,
which is located about 20 km SW of Paris. It’s about a half hour train ride from Paris.

Now I’m warning you, be prepared. When you arrive, you can be waiting up to 3-4 hours to get inside the Chateau itself. So wear comfortable shoes to walk around in, and have plenty of water and snacks to prepare yourself.
I went to Versailles on a tour guide with the same company that offered the Tour of Paris.
The girls and I didn’t actually go inside the Chateau, but instead just did the tour around
the famous Versailles Gardens.

The gardens are beautiful and the sheer size of them alone are massive. It’s amazing how much greenery is there, and its even more impressive that the caretakers upkeep the shrubbery by hand.
Though I was told by a friend that if you’re ever in Spain, the gardens in Grenada are a MUST-SEE
and that they are much more beautiful then the ones on Versailles.

Some interesting facts about Versailles
- The fountains around the garden still use the same mechanism as it did back in the 17 / 1800’s
- The Palace of Versailles is where Kim Kardashian and Kanye West had their rehearsal dinner for their wedding, and the cost of 400,000 Euro ( They wanted their wedding there, but were denied so settled for the rehearsal dinner instead )

Overall, I highly recommend going on this tour while visiting Paris. It’s informative on the history of the Palace, which is more interesting than dry ( which a lot of the time, it can be )
It was fairly priced considering you spend a decent amount of your day there, but it also allows
you to have free time at the end of the tour to decide on what you would like to do. You could decide to go inside the Chateau and see the Hall of Mirrors, visit the estate of Marie Antoinette, or go back to Paris and see something else that you haven’t yet, in the City of Love.
