Stand Up Against Bullying

Bullying.
We’ve all taken part of it whether we want to admit it or not.
Either we were a bully, were bullied, or was a witness to bullying happening around us.
As unfortunate as it is to say, bullying is something that happens in every country, every city, every school, every day.
But what we need to realize is that even if bullying can start out as harmless fun for kids, can lead to some unthinkable incidents that are irreversible and tragic.
Feb 25th is PINK SHIRT DAY, started in Nova Scotia to spread awareness and to take a stand against bullying.
I took a part in Anti-Bullying Day as it’s something that I believe in since I’ve personally been bullied before, and to fully support all of those who have been and who continue to get bullied.
Even though I’ve had some hard times growing up, being bullied particularly because of my small stature and because I wasn’t born in Canada / english wasn’t my first language ( yes I’m an immigrant for those of you who didn’t know that previously ) I know that so many more people out there have had it 1000000000x worse than I had. Those are the people that deserve so much more to life, and to know that they aren’t alone in the situation, no matter how lonely it may seem sometimes.
And that they have support, even if it’s from strangers they don’t know.
Recently I watched a documentary called Bully ( available on Netflix )
and I highly recommend it everyone. Sometimes we forget about bullying because we aren’t in elementary, junior high or high school anymore. However this film really shed some light on some of the bullying happening now, and how very real and serious the matter is.
It’ll only get worse if we don’t stand up and put a stop to it.
Together we can will make a change!
If you see someone getting bullied, whether thats verbal, physical, cyber, or otherwise
– Please take a stand and say something.
Don’t just ignore the situation, imagine if that was happening to someone in your life,
whether that be a brother/sister, friend, son/daughter or anyone …
You would want someone to stand up for them,
so why don’t you be that person.
With Love,
 Murs xx
