Whens the last time …

Here’s a question for you;
When is the last time you did something for someone else?
& not because it benefited you in any way, or because you had to?
( ie. like something related to work )

If it takes you awhile to come up with an answer, or if you are unable to come up with one at all..
Ask yourself – Why? What is holding you back or stopping you from doing so?
I am very fortunate to be where I am in life, and I never take for granted the life that God has blessed me with.
Maybe it’s because I was born in a 3rd world country, and my parents worked very hard to get my sister & I the opportunity for a better life here, but it’s even the simple things that I’m reminded about that I’m so lucky to have.
If you know me personally, you would know that I’m an avid and active volunteer, for many different causes and charities that I have near and dear to my heart.
These past 6 weeks & counting, have been the most busy ( and stressful ) I’ve ever been with charity work.
I’m the type of person that wants to accomplish everything myself, doesn’t want to reach out for help, and won’t say no to any task or assignment, even if it means adding endless amount of days with no time for myself.
But here is what I’ve realized,
I don’t have to do everything myself, I have to remember that I am only one person & that it is okay to say no sometimes.
Now I know that I won’t stop being a workaholic ( volunteer-a-holic? is that a thing? ) as it’s just something I’m passionate about, but sometimes I also need a break too.
This post is dedicated to everyone who’s helped me over the past several months, who’s reached out and has volunteered their advice, ideas, time, weekends, week days, and of course their cold hard cash $$$ –
to help me, help others who are less fortunate.
And I hope that this post helps inspire some of YOU to think about how you may be able to give back to something or someone that’s important to you & close to your heart
With Love,
Murs xx
