When and why did you start playing?
I was essentially thrown into piano lessons when I was 4/5, but I didn’t last very long… partly because I was too shy and just not ready. Instead I started teaching myself and learning from my sister. I’ve always wanted to play instruments and sing when I was younger, and I honestly don’t know why because music was never part of my family growing up. I mean my parents rarely even listened to music in the car – LIKE WHAT? But when I was 12 my beautiful grandma bought me my first guitar and I started taking lessons for a year, and I was OBSSESSED. I had the biggest crush on my guitar teacher too so I wanted to impress him so that could have helped. And then I started watching YouTube videos, and my desire to sing just took over and it all started from there
Which instruments do you play?
My main love is guitar, but I can also play piano, ukulele, and drums (but I ain’t that good).
What was the first tune(s) you learned?
The first song I learned how to play guitar and sing at the same time was “Wonderwall” by Oasis. My guitar teacher just made me learn it, and I’m still forever thankful.
Which famous musicians do you admire? Why?
JAMES BAY!!! He changed my LIFE. I only discovered him not even a year ago because of a wonderful friend 😉 (this friend was me!!! hehe) but I swear there’s no one and nothing like him. I feel like he just writes music for the love of it, not to write a hit song. He’s an incredible lyricist, his guitar skills, his face, HIS VOICE. I could go on forever. John Mayer and Ed Sheeran can also be thrown into this, because they’re both such incredible songwriters and true artists. I just love acoustic, pop, rock music
Who are your favorite musicians? Groups? CD’s?
James Bay, John Mayer, Ed Sheeran, & Carrie Underwood – TOP 4 ❤
Every single one of their albums are fire, but I love love love Chaos & the Calm, Continuum, +, and Carnival Ride from these artists.

What advice would you give to beginners who are nervous?
Remember why you are doing it, and why you love it. It’s a lot easier to overcome your fear when you want it and love it so much. Be confident. I learned that if you are prepared, what is there to be nervous about? (Learned that from Adam Levine). Just do it, and love every second of it. I sometimes still get nervous before a show, but the second I finish the first song I just get lost in it.

If you could blink your eyes and be in a favourite place right now, where would that place be?
VEGAS I basically grew up in Vegas, I’d consider that home as much as I do for Calgary. I love love love that city. I love the energy. I love the heat. I love the food. I love the pools. It’s funny though, I’m not a party girl AT ALL, so it’s weird how much I love Vegas.

Where would you like to find yourself in ten years?
I would love to still be doing music, especially songwriting…hopefully have accomplished a name for myself with my music. I just want to make a difference in someone’s life with my songs, or my story…so cheeseeeyy but it’s true. I also want to have a million dogs.

What do you feel most proud of?
Being confident enough to be able to put up these videos of myself singing for suuure. I dreamt of this day, but it took SO MUCH time and practice to be where I am today. Even though I don’t have that much of a following – just the amount of people that tell me that I inspire them or that they aspire to be me, or even compliment me and my voice…. I lose my mind!! That’s so crazy and I’m still getting used to it. I love love love every single one of my supporters, they literally make my life complete.

If you could travel anywhere, where would you go and why?
I definitely want to go to Australia!!! I would love to see the land down undaaaa. I’m also vegan, and Australia has sooooo many vegan options. It would just be a dream. But I would also love to go to Europe because the music scene there is exactly where I belong.

If you could only keep five possessions, what would they be?

  1. Guitar FOR SURE
  2. My dogs (does that count?)
  3. Car
  4. Laptop
  5. Phone

Who do you most admire in life?
My best friend, Haley without a doubt. I am literally where I am today because she believed in me when literally NO ONE else did hahaha and I mean no one. She is just such a strong beautiful human. She would do anything for anyone – she has such a big heart. She’s just amazing.

What is a skill you’d like to learn and why?
Lead guitar fo sho. I wish I could just go crazy on the guitar – but it’s never too late… you never know. I am definitely going to try to learn!!

What does a perfect day look like to you?
Performing to people who know my music, writing a song, hangin’ with the fam jam and all my fav people, and end the night watching friends. UGH SO PERFECT.

How would your friends describe you?
They would literally just talk about me and my music. Haha that is all I talk about and do. So hopefully they say hardworking and passionate? Probably weird. And obsessed with my dogs.
