Travelling looked very different this year. While I wasn’t able to go on a major-trip-usually-across-the-world, the circumstances allowed me to 1) Explore cities that were close to me 2) Save some $$. It’s definitely easy to fall into dark place thinking about the state of the world, and all the other crappy things right now. So I’m trying to remember to see the silver lining of situations, no matter how small.

I was lucky enough to be able to go on this roadtrip with my dear friend Murv!! We only had a few days and wanted to make the most of it, our priorities were: sun & wineries.
During our trip we were able to check out:
–Mission Hill
–Quail’s Gate
–Tantalus
–Kitsch
My favourite was Kitsch by far! We were able to snag a ride through the vineyard, and even have a tasting of some baby grapes that were being grown for Pinot Noirs. Quail’s Gate and Mission Hill I think are the most popular (and some of the more pricier ones), but there are so many wineries everywhere in Kelowna! I definitely recommend checking out the smaller ones available if you can!

And remember to book ahead! This goes for accommodations and winery visits. During the summer, Kelowna is very popular. And considering that they were operating at less capacity due to COVID, they were all by appointment only. So do yourself a favour and do a bit of research ahead of time and make those reservations! A tip I have is to make sure that you are booking wineries that are all close in proximity. Or atleast ones that aren’t on the East and West side to avoid having to go back and forth, it will save you time and cab fair.
Another thing that I was able to check out while I was in Kelowna was the Kangaroo Creek Farm! Honestly it was so much fun, and family friendly. They had way more animals than I expected, and I was able to snap some pretty cool shots. My fav are below.

Sometimes I forget how beautiful Canada is, because usually I’m always planning my next biggest trip that’s usually in Europe or Asia.
This summer I was able to experience a different type of vacation by a quick road trip, and it was definitely worth it. I’ll be back! It was a nice reminder that you don’t have to travel far to see and experience a good time, sometimes all you need is an extended weekend and your best gal pal.
p.s – if you are in Kelowna, check out West Coast Grill & Oyster Bar. The food was ah-maz-ing!!!

’till next time!
With love,
Murs
