Tulum ’23

Out of all of my travels over the past dozen years, I’ve surprisingly never made it to Mexico.. until now! I really wanted to look for an affordable trip, to just get away and reset. I was able to get an incredible deal through AMA Travel Vacation Packages, so if you have a membership there, I highly recommend checking out their deals. I was able to get a round trip flight, plus transfer (both ways) for 5 nights for less than $1500 to all-inclusive in Tulum!

My priorities for this trip were:
1) Exercising
2) Reading
3) Tanning

If you want to venture outside of your resort or accommodations, keep in mind that Tulum is set up in zones. So if you want to take a taxi in the “hotel zone” to get somewhere, expect that it won’t be cheap. The great thing about Tulum is that you can ride bicycles to get around! My resort had bicycles to rent for the day, and they check your room# to keep track of guests coming and going. It felt really safe to get around and explore. There is a lot of really cool art / graffiti around town so definitely recommend to go and explore!

There were a lot of vegan restaurants which was great to see, including Liefs.

Kore Tulum Retreat & Spa is a smaller resort, so if you wanted something quieter that was still relatively close to Tulum DT, it could be a good option. Though if you were wanting a bigger resort with more restaurants and activities, I would consider booking elsewhere like at one of the bigger chains.

Tulum was exactly what I needed. Until next time Mexico!

With Love,
Murs ❤

  1. sounds like such a fabulously relaxing vacay!! The water and the beach looks so pristine. Which book(s) did you read while you were there?!
