Well as luck would have it, I’d be going back to Mexico for a second consecutive year! Our friends were getting married and I decided to extend the trip because, well why not. We stayed at a Delta and it was pretty unique as it was nestled in the jungle on a hill. It was only my second ever all-inclusive but this one was smaller in comparison to some of the other well known chains. All of the wedding guests stayed in the same tower, and there were golf cart attendants that were ready to take you to the other places on the property. It was a bit of a steep walk if you were going up hill but it was manageable and a good way to get steps in!

The Delta had a beach club that was about a 15 minute ride away, and they had shuttles running there every hour. The food was different from the food on the resort which was nice, and everything on the menu was pretty good! I recommend going on the earlier shuttles to secure your lounger! They also have tables and chairs that are in the shade (and closer to the bar) if that’s more your vibe. Keep in mind that the last shuttle going back to the resort was around 6 PM (approx.) And that you need to tell the attendants there what shuttle you would like to be on to head back, so consider doing planning ahead and doing that to secure your spot on the shuttle!

Tanning (in the sun) is one of my absolute favourite things to do. Perhaps this is cause I’m a pacific islander? Or that I’m allergic to the cold? (This is a real diagnosis and yes, I do in fact have it. Google Cold Urticaria. I have medication that I need to take for essentially half of the year where I live). I recently discovered Rocky Mountain Soaps After Sun Body Butter and love it! Would highly recommend it to anyone that is hunting for something for a sunny vacation and that has clean ingredients.

Our resort had some tours that you could book by the reception and we decided to do a boat day. You could choose from half-day to full day, and there were different sized boats depending on the amount of people that wanted to do it. I would recommend the full-day because you get more time on the boat and more time snorkeling! A few things to keep in mind, PLEASE do your research on which company to use. Using a reputable company that’s in association with your hotel is usually pretty safe. I had to pay up front for the boat day to secure the boat, if that’s not possible, everyone needed to be there at the time of booking to pay for themselves. I’ll say that with this company, because I paid up front, the gentlemen gave me a slight discount.

The first stop was Los Arcos, where we stopped to snorkel. We opted to do this first because 1) everyone was most excited to do this 2) the drinking on the boat couldn’t start until after the water activities were complete for safety purposes. I’ve been on a lot of boat trips in my travels and I have to say, this was one of the BEST experiences I had. We got to see sooooo many fish, some sleeping dolphins, and the biggest manta ray I’ve ever seen. The food on the boat was also delicious (and they accommodated dietary restrictions for DF & GF). Remember to bring water, a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, gravol(!!), Go Pro/water camera, towel (we were allowed to bring towels from the hotel) snacks. I didn’t bring my Go Pro but luckily Derek did and caught the manta Ray on camera! I would also consider bringing a battery pack and charger in case you will be out exploring and your phone gets low battery. The rest of the day was spent cruising around, had another pit stop to swim and chill. The weather was incredible and it was just the best day out on the water!

And of course, the whole reason for this trip was to celebrate two amazing people that mean so much to so many. Love you both & wishing you a lifetime of happiness and adventure!
With Love,
Murs ❤

Another excellent trip to Mexico. I noticed you didn’t mention reading which seems odd but it’s probably because you were exploring and doing all the activities!!!!!

I did read (duh it’s in my DNA) but I will save those for my yearly book round up! I didn’t read as much because of all of the wedding festivities!!
